3 months ago, my vivo z1 pro lcd from 2019 broke down. I fixed it a week ago and it only lasts a week. I decided that I wanted to buy another cheap chinese phone just for daily usage.

I love my 1 II, and you forgot to mention the lack of a notch or holepunch which is important for me. I love having small bezels up and bottom so the phone is symmetrical and you actually have some place to hold it. With the stock Android a lot of people actually prefers this, but I also wish they went back to the design they used to have between Android 4.4-6.0, I hate oversimplified UIs with dull non-gradient colours. Plus, the EQ of flagship Sony phones are just the best (except for 10 II, that was shit). And they used to be even better, my old XZ1 has the perfect EQ for me, but the 1 II is also fine. One thing for sure, they're overpriced as hell. That's why I usually buy a used flagship and their overkill hardware makes them good for another 4 years.

I'm not buying this phone until it hits at least 400$

That blue colour has become somehow a kind of an hallmark for Pixels. Very often ppl are asking me what phone this is. I ordered mine as a replacement for very used Galaxy s10e. I choose this Pixel because it's very comfortable in hand due to the round corners. I love these bezels and it's size, it is almost the same as my s10e I used to. Perfect shape, colour, and a great deal in Europe. For the rest specs, that's even too much for me. I like it has not overpowered processor so it can keep some more battery. I don't need that.

Just picked up OnePlus Ace 3 Keqing Edition. As a Genshin player, I had to grab it. My previous phone was a Realme GT Master Edition, which it works fine for its whole two years of running, but one incident made the screen popped out like a fold phone and I think the call sensor and screen is kinda busted (though there's no cracks). If I have to be honest, I don't really need this OnePlus but, an upgrade is an upgrade, and I really do plan on using this baby for 5 years at least. Hard to imagine a Snap 8 Gen 2 being irrelevant any time soon. I think it was a bit too early for me to upgrade, but the Genshin deal is just too tempting...

I always wanted to try one but the price point and the lack of good software support made me pause on purchasing one. Not to mention I heard sometimes the software can be buggy which the company can take a lot longer to fix them. Even on the used phone market, they remain expensive. Samsung has already geared itself as a gaming phone with vapor chamber cooling. The Galaxy Note 9 was Fortnite sponsored phone.

Alternatives ? In europe 8a is like 200$ cheaper than 8. A55 is to huge phone.

12R for performance, battery and charging, display. Pixel for camera, software, better assistant functionality, the best recorder app. Honestly though, if you're married to the idea of getting the pixel, you probably be better off getting like the pixel 7 pro for 320. Then you get the telephoto lens and the QHD and the much nicer design. Design I would argue just because of the more modern look, although I prefer the back of the pixel to the OnePlus. I love the vertical camera bump, but I don't know if that's enough to make up for the bezels on the front.

This video, respectfully, looks like it is a cheap advertising for the chinese phone vs the korean flagship.

Only downsides I see are the curved glass (if they cant figure out the ghost touches), optic fingerprint sensor, and the fewer OS updates. Besides that, i see a winner for the price.

Im not even going to watch it at all 9 know it'll just be endless nitpicking. The pixel 8a is fine its essentially the same thing just a lower clocked processor & somewhat worse camera. Im at the point where i dont know ehy they make the regular pixel 8 instead why not the 8a & pro

I 100% agree with your assessment! Full price, the 8A is a great deal, but if the regular eight is on discount, it's a no-brainer!

THANK YOU for that bit around the 2 minute mark about the panel variance. Sure, on PAPER they look the same, but I always noticed that the a-series had worse viewing angles and not as bright, even if they claimed it. Hell, even in store earlier this week I saw all 3 next to each other, the 8a, 8 and 8 Pro, and I thought the 8 looked the best when it came to color volume/perceived brightness. I typically prefer a cooler temperature screen, and while the 8 Pro looked cooler, the 8 just looked brighter to me.
